Looking
forward to? Answers. I guess I shouldn't have put that I was looking forward to meeting Baby O'Connor last week because it looks like we will be meeting him or her a lot sooner than we thought.
I am currently in L&D for 24 hours to monitor my blood pressure and protein levels in my urine. At my doctor's appointment this morning my blood pressure was a staggering 180/110.
I was immediately sent to assessment for further monitoring and tests. My blood pressure stayed very high and the lowest it was there was 157/105. My urine still had protein in it, but my blood work came back great. I was hooked up to monitors and discovered that I was having contractions, but baby was doing great.
It was then decided that I need to stay for 24 hours at least for monitoring. I met with maternal fetal medicine for an ultrasound to measure the baby and everything looks great. We were able to see some 3D images and I must say that we have one stinking cute baby (at least in utero). What do you think?
I was finally allowed to eat lunch around 2:50 and they took my blood pressure about 45 minutes later and it was 145/90. I told the nurses, see you just needed to feed me!
So, I'll stay here for the next day or so and wait to see what the doctor wants to do. Right now, it seems like we have 3 options. 1 go home tomorrow on bed rest and try to wait until I reach 37 weeks. 2 stay here longer for more monitoring. 3 we meet Baby O'Connor tomorrow or the next day.
The weekly belly shot.
